The Dreamer's Keep
Alone in silence while night slips away
Into the mind where all is now gray
Your thoughts and worries won't leave you be
So dream you're taking this trip with me.
Come on inside and take a peek
And welcome to the dreamer's keep
Where all the people who cannot sleep
are all gathered around and counting sheep.
See the glittering night falling down
As we float above the earthy ground.
Look over there, what's that I see?
It's Little Fairy Flutter-feet
A - dancing up the suzi street.
Hear the song of the cooing dove
And smell the mist of imaginary love.
This is the place where you can go
When you cannot sleep and you're feeling low.
For everyone knows that peace of mind
Is somewhere out there, but hard to find.
So if you want to fall fast asleep,
Just take a trip to the dreamer's keep.
My Mind's Ear
When the muse whispers into my ear,
And beautiful songs are all I hear,
I'll stand upon a fluffy cloud,
And sing my thoughts in song aloud.
And so the world will always spin,
While in my soul are thoughts of Zen.
So every day I'll hold it dear,
That songs are born from my mind's ear.
The Disco Jogger
As I wait the whole week long
To see and laugh , though it is wrong.
I tell you of a funny sight...
The Disco Jogger in broad daylight.
In blue silk shorts, he jogs along.
I'll bet he's thinking of a song.
A snappy tune by the Bee Gees,
Maybe he will do "The Freeze".
Is that a golden chain I see?
A john Travolta wanna-be?
So even though i know it's wrong,
I laugh and watch him jog along.
Limericks
The Flower
I once sniffed a flower
After a Springtime shower
A bumble bee arose,
and stung my little nose,
And now it's been swollen for an hour.
Brain Picker
I know a brain picker
That liketh to bicker
It makes him feel smarter
For you to think harder
And him to think he is the quicker.
Not So Debonnaire
Strutting his dairyaire
And acting extraordinaire
He slipped on a weiner
Ruining his demeanor
And now he's not so debonnaire.
